Automatic H1 Equivalence Procedures - Monash qualifications

Some Monash qualifications have been approved for automatic H1 equivalence. The automatic H1 equivalence nomination form needs to be submitted to the Research Graduate School.  The Research Graduate School will check that the applicant meets the minimum requirements for automatic H1 equivalence. Should the applicant fail to meet the minimum requirements, an H1 equivalence submission will need to be made.

Faculties can request for Monash qualifications to be assessed for automatic H1E by completing the proforma.

The following Monash qualifications have been approved for automatic H1 equivalence:

Graduate Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters Course is genuine 4th or 5th year level (ie does not consist of units at Bachelor 1st, 2nd or 3rd year levels). Must have completed an independent research project of at least 12 points and achieved a grade of HD.
Must have completed a research methodology unit of at least 12 points and achieved a grade of HD.
Must also achieve an HD average for all other units.

3509 Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology From 2008, must complete a 24-point research unit (PSY4518). Prior to 2008, must have completed units PSY4502, PSY4510 and PSY4511. Must achieve a HD for the 24-point research unit (or HD for units PSY4502 and PSY4511) plus a HD overall average.
