Frequently Asked Questions

 Q. Can I undertake the Graduate Certificate in Commercialising Research part-time while continuing my higher degree by research (HDR) program part-time?
 A. Applicants wishing to maintain their HDR enrolment and undertake the course part-time (one unit per semester over two years) may also be considered.

 Q. Can I continue my higher degree by research (HDR) candidature part-time while undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Commercialising Research full-time?
 A. No – this would result in an overloaded enrolment. (Full-time enrolment equates to a 1.0 load; however, part-time HDR combined with full-time enrolment in the graduate certificate would be an enrolment of 1.5.)

For full-time APA/MGS students there is a further difficulty. If they suspended their APA/MGS while undertaking CTS training full-time (as they would be required to do) but did not intermit HDR candidature, this four month period would be deducted from the tenure of their APA/MGS scholarship. (This is because any HDR enrolment pursued while the scholarship is suspended, is deducted from maximum scholarship tenure.)

 Q.  If I have completed the CTS training award form, do I have to fill out a separate form for admission to the Graduate Certificate Course?
 A. No, your application for a CTS training award will also be used as an application for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Commercialising Research.
