Roles and responsibilities
The Monash Research Graduate School administers the university's doctoral programs, the MPhil degree, postgraduate research scholarships and research training activities.
It was established in November 1999 when the inaugural director, Professor Max King, was appointed.
The university places a high priority on postgraduate research activity, and the school was created to enhance and coordinate this area. It has four key university-wide tasks:
- Overview and development of postgraduate research policies
- Review and expansion of research degree courses to meet the changing needs of students
- Identification and implementation of best practice
- Development of support programs that benefit all postgraduate researchers.
