    1.  Expert support available for Monash applicants for Prestigious Research Awards

    Monash University is committed to supporting any high calibre student who wishes to apply for the General Sir John Monash Awards.

    Professor David Copolov, Senior Advisor to the Vice Chancellor will present an information and advice session for prospective applicants on Tuesday July 21 at 1pm in Building 8, Lecture Theatre R7, Clayton campus.

    An expert in grant and award application, David will provide an insight into the selection criteria, appropriate skills and experience required to apply and how to structure your application to best represent your suitability.

    Attendees who choose to submit an application for the General Sir John Monash Awards will also be offered a personal review of their draft by Professor Copolov prior to submission.

    2.  Call for MPA orientation volunteers

    Remember your first days at Monash? Many new students find their first few days the hardest and would love your help! Volunteer to help a group of new postgraduates during the orientation period from 14-16 July 2009. The MPA will need volunteers at Clayton and at Caulfield.     3.  Monash Residential Services has to provide to staff and official visitors to Monash University.

    Does your department/faculty have new staff members requiring temporary accommodation until they find something more permanent? Or, do visiting academics who have been invited to work with your department, need accommodation for a short period of time?

    Monash Residential Services is able to offer the following accommodation suitable for single, double and family occupancy:

    • Eight double storey, 2 & 3 bedroom, fully self contained and appropriately furnished townhouses located on Clayton Road and conveniently close to the University, Clayton train station, Clayton shopping district and Monash Medical Centre.
    • A fully self contained house on Beddoe Avenue, five minutes from the University and also a two minute walk to child care facilities.
    • Three newly renovated motel style rooms (studio), located at Normanby House on the north east side of the campus.
