1. 8th National Conference of EMERGING RESEARCHERS IN AGEING - ERA 2009 Conference

The Healthy Ageing Research Unit (HARU) at Monash University is pleased to invite PhD, Professional Doctorate and Masters students to participate in the 8th National Conference of Emerging Researchers in Ageing. ERA conferences have been held annually since 2002. Since 2006 the conference has successfully moved around Australia and this year the conference will be held in Melbourne for the first time.

2. 2009 Faculty Doctoral Conference
The 14th Annual Faculty Doctoral Conference will be held at Flowerdale Estate Retreat at Flowerdale about 70 minutes north of the CBD: http://www.flowerdaleestate.com.au/ on October 19 & 20.
This event is a great opportunity to broaden the experience of faculty doctoral students here at Monash: to gain presentation experience before a multidisciplinary audience; and to further develop networks both with senior academic staff and peers outside of your discipline.

3. The Fourth Australian Conference on Artificial Life (ACAL'09)
The Fourth Australian Conference on Artificial Life (ACAL09) will be held at the University of Melbourne from 1-4 December 2009 in conjunction with the 22nd Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI'09) and the Australasian Data Mining Conference (AusDM).
The Program Committee of ACAL09 invites technical papers on substantial, original, and unpublished research on all aspects of Artificial Life and Complex Adaptive Systems. Special sessions are being organised on Artificial Ecology and on ALife Art.

4. Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development Conference, 12 - 15 July 2010 Oulu, Finland
The Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development (AWBMAMD) is delighted to announce its 4th Biennial refereed conference that will be held on the 12-15 July, 2010 in Finland.
Manuscripts for the 4th Biennial 2010 AWBMAMD Conference are invited in terms of competitive papers, case studies, research in progress, special sessions and doctoral research papers in any of the various track areas which include marketing, management, finance, banking, accounting, human resource management, organizational behaviour, information technology and systems, foreign direct investment, e- business/ e-marketing, business and management in aviation industry, education administration, economics, tourism and hospitality, aviation and aerospace, transportations, health care, entrepreneurship, business law, leadership style, computer engineering, privatization, etc.

5. School of Primary Health Care Seminar Series: Community Voices 2009
The Monash School of Primary Care Community Voices seminar series aims to connect researchers, health professionals and the public with the views and experiences of those directly working within community health.
It provides new insights from some of our leading community health care policy makers and advocates, who are working at the grassroots and government levels to change the health and well-being of Australians.
The first seminar of the series will be presented by Dr Rick Kausman and is titled: 'If Not Dieting, Then What?' Dr Rick Kausman is a medical doctor who is recognised as the Australian pioneer of the person-centred approach to healthy weight management.
A light lunch will be provided. Registration is free; however numbers are limited to 100 participants.
This program has been supported with funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing under the Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) Initiative.

6. Climate: Science & Humanities Graduate Perspectives from Australia, china and the US March 3-4 2010, Harvard University
The Go8 will co-sponsor a conference with Harvard University and the C9 group of research intensive universities in China on March 2010 at Harvard University.
The conference will bring together 40 graduate students from Australia, China, and the US - leaders of the next generation - to present their global perspectives on climate and climate change from three very different national bases.
It aims to highlight research work that displays genuine disciplinary crossover. Science students and Humanities/Social Science students will exchange research ideas, crossing disciplines, cultures, and continents.
Two students from each Go8 university will be funded to attend.
The application form for Go8 students is attached. It outlines the application and selection procedures.
Eligibility
Students must be enrolled in a research degree at a Go8 university.
Eligible students include those currently under examination.
International students enrolled at Go8 universities are eligible to apply.

7. The 22nd Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI'09)
The AI 2009 Program Committee invites submission of papers for the 22nd Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI'09). The purpose of the conference is to promote research in AI and scientific interchange among researchers and practitioners in the field of AI. The conference is hosted by Monash University's Faculty of Information Technology and will be co-located with the Australasian Data Mining Conference (AusDM '09) and the Fourth Australian Conference on Artificial Life (ACAL'09). The conference will be held at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia between 1 and 4 December 2009.
